# Cron Job Monitoring

> Review cron run history, failures, status, and manual triggers.

Open a job to see its run history and current state.

## Job status

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Active** | Pxxl schedules and sends the job. |
| **Paused** | The job remains configured but scheduled requests are stopped. |
| **Disabled** | Pxxl stopped the job and shows the reason. |

## Run history

Run history includes the status code, response output, error message, timeout state, and timestamps. Select **Trigger** to queue an immediate run through the same worker.

## Failure handling

Pxxl disables a job after three consecutive failures. Fix the endpoint or credentials, then start the job again. Starting a disabled job resets its consecutive failure count.

When investigating a failure:

1. Check the request URL and method.
2. Confirm the authentication header is still valid.
3. Check the endpoint's application logs.
4. Confirm the response is a <code>2xx</code> status.
5. Check whether the work completes within the timeout.

## Operational checklist

* Make the endpoint idempotent.
* Return a useful status code.
* Log a request ID or job identifier on the application side.
* Keep sensitive response data out of the response body.
* Pause the job before changing a production endpoint.
