# Build Configuration

> Review the source, commands, runtime, domains, and scaling settings before deployment.

After the source is selected, Pxxl opens the configuration step. The exact fields depend on the source, but the purpose is the same: review what Pxxl will build and how it will run.

## Project settings

| Setting | What it controls |
| - | - |
| **Project domain** | The public Pxxl subdomain for the project. |
| **Domain suffix** | The Pxxl suffix used by the public subdomain. |
| **Port** | The port the application listens on inside the runtime. |
| **Branch** | The source branch used for the deployment. |
| **Commit** | The exact source revision to deploy. |
| **Base directory** | The directory where Pxxl should find the application. |
| **Multiple services** | Separate services in a repository that contains more than one deployable application. See [Multiple Services and Monorepos](/deploy/multiple-services). |

## Multiple services and monorepos

If the repository contains more than one deployable application, enable **Multiple Services** and configure each service separately. A monorepo can contain a web app, API, worker, or other service under different directories while keeping one repository and project history.

Pxxl saves each service with its own alias, base directory, service type, route setting, port, and commands. Read [Multiple Services and Monorepos](/deploy/multiple-services) for the full setup and a working layout.

## Build settings

Pxxl fills these from repository analysis when it can. Review them when the project has a custom setup:

* package manager
* runtime version
* install command
* build command
* start command
* output directory

For a Web Service, the start command must keep the application running and the process must listen on the configured port. A Static App needs an output directory instead of a long-running process.

## Environment and server settings

Add required values in **Secrets** before the first build. Review server and scaling settings when the project needs more CPU, memory, replicas, or a larger build server.

Advanced options can include:

* blue-green deployment
* autoscaling
* project webhooks
* build cache
* preview environments

Only enable an option when you know the project needs it. The available controls can vary by plan and source.

## Submit the deployment

Before selecting **Deploy Project**, confirm:

* the source, branch, and commit
* the domain and port
* the language and framework
* the install, build, and start commands
* required environment variables
* the deployment target

Pxxl then queues the deployment and opens the logs for the new build.
