# Monitoring

> Review CPU, memory, and runtime footprint for an active Pxxl service.

The **Monitoring** tab shows resource use across the active runtime. Use it after a deployment, during a traffic increase, or when deciding whether to change compute settings.

## Runtime measurements

| Measurement | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **CPU** | Latest CPU utilization for the active runtime. |
| **Application memory** | Memory used by the application process. |
| **Sandbox overhead** | Host memory used by the application's sandbox. |
| **Total footprint** | Application memory plus sandbox overhead. |
| **Peak footprint** | Highest recorded total footprint in the selected timeframe. |

The **Resource Activity** chart shows CPU and memory movement across the selected period.

## Timeframes and replicas

Choose **24h**, **48h**, **72h**, **7d**, or **30d**. If the project has more than one runtime instance, use the instance selector to view one replica or the combined view.

Monitoring helps you decide when to open [Compute & Scaling](/projects/compute). It does not replace application logs or Web Analytics.
